I agree. I think Annie Leibovitz was being deliberate. Miley Cyrus was on American Idol a few weeks back and was essentially having sex with the stage. It’s obvious she’s on her way to being the next paparazzi hounded whack-job starlet. I feel like the point of that shoot was Annie Leibovitz saying “So that’s what you want? Fine. Here.” And then suddenly everybody got uncomfortable. And all because her photos were blatantly saying what’s only been hinted at.about the miley cyrus cover?
first, it’s annie leibovitz: she’s a provocative photographer.
second, it’s not a particularly sexual image. a provocative image, sure. but from my subjective standpoint, it’s not a disempowering photograph.
